Sorry to delay my reply, but having entered my 77th year, my conscious mind is less responsive than it was.
The primary focus of my astrology was ever to give meaning to what is visible, but the gates, more tangible than MC and IC on a chart, connect conscious and unconscious in a visceral way, to the extent that you can actually inhabit your unconscious.
Two things of crucial importance:
•in the underworld the IC becomes the MC and vice versa, and Southern and Northern tropical signs are reversed;
•one must be mindful in the Underworld, as no doubt end-times prophets of Abrahamic religions were, that the sun rises in the west.
